AMD has officially introduced its brand new Radeon RX 7600 graphics card which starts at $269 US, making it the cheapest current-gen product.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 Tackles The NVIDIA RTX 4060 With A Price of Just $269 US: Navi 33 & 8 GB Memory For 1080p Gamers

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 8 GB is considered to be a mainstream graphics card based on an entry-level RDNA 3 GPU. This RDNA 3 GPU is known as the Navi 33 and is the smallest and the only chip in the family that utilizes a 6nm monolithic design. The graphics card is said to feature a price point that competes directly against the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 while primarily aiming 1080p gamers.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 Graphics Card Specifications

Starting with the details, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card will feature the Navi 33 XL GPU which incorporates 13.3 Billion transistors in a 204mm2 die. This chip is 14% smaller than Navi 23 GPUs featured on the Radeon RX 6600 series. The chip offers a total of 16 WGPs, 32 compute units, 32 ray-tracing units, 64 AI accelerators, and a total of 2048 stream processors. The clock speed has been configured at 2250 MHz “Game” and 2625 MHz “Boost” which delivers a maximum compute performance of 21.75 TFLOPs (FP32) and 43.5 TFLOPs (FP16).

  • AMD Navi 33: 2048 Cores, 128-bit Bus, 32 MB Infinity Cache, 204mm2 GPU Die @6nm
  • AMD Navi 23: 2048 Cores, 128-bit Bus, 32 MB Infinity Cache, 237mm2 GPU Die @7nm

As for the memory, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card will feature 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps speeds across a 128-bit interface. The GPU also comes packed with 32 MB of Infinity Cache and both combined delivered an effective bandwidth of 476.9 GB/s (288 GB/s from the GDDR6). The GPU also packs 64 ROPs.

The Navi 33 GPUs feature a PCIe 4.0 x8 interface due to their entry-level chip design. Power will be provided through a single 8-pin connector for up to 165W TBP. Now based on the power figures, it looks like NVIDIA will retain the efficiency lead since the GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB which is the direct competitor to the RX 7600, will feature a TGP of 115W with actual average gaming performance as close to 100W. Even the RTX 4060 Ti which is faster than the RX 7600 GPU, consumes lower power of 160W with average gaming power rated at just 140W.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 Graphics Card Performance

As for performance, AMD shared a load of performance metrics at 1080p Native with max settings and the card delivers an average of 30% performance increase over the Radeon RX 6600. This will allow gamers to enjoy a smooth 60+ FPS across the majority of AAA and eSports titles. Plus, if you want to go above and beyond, there’s always FSR & RSR which can deliver enough performance to get you up to 1440p resolutions.

Allowing gamers to play the latest titles at 60+ FPS at 1080p and stream in high fidelity with AV1 technology, the new graphics card offers 29% higher 1080p gaming performance on average than the AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card and 34% higher performance on average than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB at max settings.

It also enables 100+ FPS on average in today’s top 10 PC esports titles, while delivering faster AI performance than the previous generation and higher average performance in select content creation applications. Offering the latest features and capabilities, including AMD Radiance Display Engine, full AV1 encoding, leadership support for DisplayPort 2.1 on select models and more, the Radeon RX 7600 graphics card is ideally suited for high-performance, high-fidelity 1080p gaming, streaming and popular content creation applications.

“Currently, 65% of gamers surveyed are playing at 1080p and the majority are still using older graphics cards, unable to take advantage of the latest performance- and visual-enhancing features that deliver the best gaming experiences,” said Scott Herkelman, senior vice president and general manager, Graphics Business Unit at AMD. “AMD offers a range of graphics solutions at different price points, memory configurations and performance levels to support a variety of gamers’ needs.

The Radeon RX 7600 graphics card at US $269 hits the sweet spot for high-performance 1080p gaming. It allows users to enjoy the latest features like AV1 encoding, the AMD Radiance Display Engine and more to take their gaming, streaming and content creation projects to the next level.”
