A lush state park in the middle of a city? Yes, that’s right, LeFleur’s Bluff State Park is nestled in the heart of Jackson and is therefore a perfect option for an accessible weekend getaway.

This 305-acre park spreads around Mayes Lake and is a popular spot among locals for fishing, kayaking, and boating. But it offers much more. Play disc golf, hike, or enjoy a picnic – the park features several pavilions, picnic tables, and grills. There is also a 9-hole golf course.

After a day of fun, you can lay your head in one of the 28 campsites. They are suitable for both tent and RV camping and are equipped with water and electrical hookups. A dump station and a bathhouse are also a part of the campground.

Little Black Creek Campground and Park

Surrounded by a 640-acre lake, Little Black Creek Campground and Park offer a variety of water and outdoor activities, such as fishing, swimming, bike riding, disc golf, or kayaking. On Tuesday evenings, the campground organizes fishing tournaments. There are also large porches of which you can watch the sun set into the water.

You can either stay at one of Little Black Creek’s fully furnished cabins or bungalows or simply in your vehicle at one of the many full hook-up RV sites. There are also multiple primitive camping areas.

Gulf Beach RV Resort

Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf Beach RV Resort is a perfect spot to enjoy the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises in the South of Mississippi.
